Ladies - what a great time! Can't wait for next month!
Cheese Ball
Use any 3 (6oz) jars of cheese:
Blue Cheese Rocha Blue
Pineapple Old English
Pimento
4 3oz cream cheese at room temperature
2 Tbs. dry onion flakes (minced onion)
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
½ tsp. Accent Salt
1 cup chopped pecans (save ½ for topping)
½ cup chopped parsley (dry or fresh – and save ½ for topping)
Mix well and refrigerate. When cool, roll into a ball or two balls if desired. Mix remaining parsley and nuts. Spread on wax paper and roll cheese ball in mixture. Then saran wrap the cheese balls and foil them until ready to use.
Stuffed Mushrooms
(This recipe is so easy it is embarassing...)
20-30 mushrooms - washed and stems removed.
1 lb. sausage, cooked & crumbled
1 pkg. cream cheese.
Combine cream cheese with cooked sausage. Stuff mushrooms with mixture. Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes.
CHRISTMAS JELLO
1 large pkg. strawberry Jell-o
1 large pkg. lime Jell-o
1 envelope unflavored gelatin
1 cup sugar
1 cup cream
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups sour cream
Dissolve strawberry Jell-o in 2 cups hot water. Add 2 cups cold water and set in 9x13 pan until firm (about 1 hr. in fridge). Dissolve 1 envelope unflavored gelatin in 1/2 cup FREEZING cold water, stirring very vigorously to encourage the gelatin to dissolve, and set aside. Over low heat, carefully dissolve sugar and cream, stirring constantly. While mixture is still hot, add the gelatin and cool completely (about an hour - not much more or gelatin starts to set). Add vanilla and sour cream. Pour over first layer and set until firm. Dissolve lime in 2 cups hot water. Add 2 cups cold water and set in 9x13 pan until firm (about 1 hr. in fridge).
*If you want to make 9x9 size, use small packages of jello (and half the water quantities)& 1/2 the cream layer too. This recipe is for 9x13 size.
*For 4th of July(red, white, blue): use berry blue and strawberry Jell-o.
*Also fun to add sliced strawberries in Christmas jello and blueberries in 4th of July jello
